Shepton Mallet – Smart Lighting & Automation

This project consisted of a main residence and a detached garage that required a seamless smart home upgrade. The requirement was to improve WiFi coverage, install smart LED lighting, garage door automation, and an integrated security system to enhance both convenience and protection. The priority was a system that was easy to use, reliable, and fully controllable via their smartphone.

Our Solution

After assessing the project requirements, we designed and installed a comprehensive smart system that delivered:

  • Smart LED Lighting – We designed and implemented customized smart LED lighting inside the garage allowing the control of brightness, set schedules, and automate the lighting when the doors open all customisable via a mobile app.

  • Garage Door Automation – The existing garage door controller was upgraded with a smart automation system, enabling the client to open and close them remotely with a smartphone, the system was linked to the lighting control providing both convenience and enhanced security.

  • WiFi Networking – We installed a mesh WiFi system to eliminate dead zones and ensure strong, uninterrupted connectivity throughout the home, garden, and garage.

  • Integrated Security System – To further enhance security, we installed a smart intruder alarm system with motion detectors, door contacts, and external sensors. The system integrates seamlessly with the WiFi network and can be armed/disarmed remotely via a mobile app. CCTV cameras were also installed, providing real-time monitoring and alerts directly to the owners smartphone.

  • Integration & Ease of Use – All systems were connected to a central smart home controller, allowing effortless control via a single app, including integration with the intruder alarm and CCTV system ensuring seamless automation and user-friendly operation.
